Landscape-Scale Action
The second phase of the CMI focused on delivering projects that provided shared benefits across all communities.
One of the most significant achievements was the designation of the Cambrian Mountains as a Dark Skies area, recognising the landscape as a place where visitors can experience exceptional night skies free from urban light pollution. Each zone now includes a designated Dark Skies viewing site; for our community, this is located on Llanllwni Mountain.
CMI staff also led coordinated marketing activity, producing visitor leaflets and raising awareness of the Cambrian Mountains as a coherent, high-quality sustainable tourism destination through press engagement and social media.
