Tourism - Brechfa Forest and LLanllwni Mountain

Llanllwni Mountain and Brechfa Forest are tourist attractions currently worth over £10million a year to the local economy, but we would like to increase that.

Creating a sustainable local economy linked to tourism is not just about supporting the tourism businesses. If a B&B uses locally produced bacon, eggs, bread, honey, jam it supports other businesses in the area. If these businesses in turn buy their supplies from local companies, so the benefits spread wider within the community. By encouraging these and other links between local businesses, every pound spent by a tourist supports more and more jobs.

There may be resources, such as shops, post offices and public houses which it is important to the community to keep viable, which benefit from the extra trade visitors to the area provide.

The community may need to raise funds to help care for play grounds or support their local school and might wish to find ways of drawing visitors into the fund raising.

There may be special places, activities, local historical charactors or legends you feel should be made more of. There may be places where you feel it would be important to reduce the number of visitors at a 'honeypot' site.

We would like your suggestions. Either by completeing the survey, or by emailing us.
